Maulana (pronounced MO-LA-NA) Zainulabedin Kazmi, a very high and holy Sufi Saint, comes from a family of Sufi Saints (Friends of God/Awliya-Allah) whose lineage goes back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the Prophet’s grandsons, Sayyidina al-Hasan (radiya Allahu ‘anhu) on Maulana’s mother’s side and through Sayyidina al-Hussain (radiya Allahu ‘anhu) on Maulana’s father’s side.
Maulana was born into the Naqshbandi Sufi Tariqat (order) into his family of Sufi Saints in India and then he emigrated with his family to Pakistan on foot at just 4 years old during the Partition in 1947. Maulana’s grandfather and father (both highly respected Sufi Saints) began training him in spirituality by the age of 6. By the age of 8, Maulana was leading Khatm-e-Khawaj-gaan[1] for the elders in the community. He frequently accompanied his father in his service to people in the cities, towns and villages near where they lived. By the age of 8, Allah had blessed Maulana with the gift to heal. Maulana at a very young age became well known for his wisdom and his ability to guide people spiritually and solve spiritual problems with Divine wisdom, logic, deep understanding, compassion, connection and inspiration. Maulana continues to serve people selflessly without charges or fees just as his father and grandfather did before him, just as he was trained to do and just as his lineage from the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) demands of him [1] Chanting ceremony in the Name of God, His Prophets and Friends of God (Saints).
In 1963, Maulana once again emigrated. This time to London , England, where he raised a family of 4 children, worked his way up to the position of Operations Manager in one of the top three largest corporations in the United Kingdom and where he offered his services for free as a legal advisor for the poor and unfortunate. Throughout all this, Maulana continued his spiritual practice and service of guiding people spiritually, resolving interpersonal conflicts and answering even the most difficult spiritual questions.
After several years of feeling pulled to leave the material world and return to his work for the Will of God and when Maulana’s children were old enough, he retired early from his job and immersed himself into his spiritual life and his own difficult, challenging and blessed spiritual journey and continued serving others.
Maulana’s father had told Maulana when he was a child that he would meet his true Master after 40 years. Until then, he would undergo many trials and tests on his own and with various other teachers. Maulana searched for years listening to many Saints, but he knew in his heart that none of them were his Master. Maulana Zainulabedin Kazmi searched for his true Master all over the world for 40 years and finally was blessed to physically meet the International Head of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order and the Seal of the Sultan-ul-Awliya, Maulana Ash-Sheikh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani al-Qubrsi an-Naqshband ar-Rabbani, otherwise known as Maulana Sheikh Nazim. When Maulana Zainulabedin Kazmi heard the name of Maulana Sheikh Nazim, his heart burst open! Since that time, Maulana Zainulabedin has served Maulana Sheikh Nazim tirelessly and usually without any recognition or acknowledgement as any true (hidden) servant of Allah would expect.
Maulana Zainulabedin Kazmi has served people obediently all over the world from the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, Russia, the Arab States and Africa – people of all nationalities and all religions.
Through Maulana Sheikh Nazim, Maulana Zainulabedin Kazmi met and married Sajidah Kazmi, an American, who had also been searching all over the world for the original, unchanged and true words and teachings of God, especially the deep secrets that would make this world make sense and would ring true in her heart. She was looking for the Secret of the Secrets which she found in Maulana Sheikh Nazim and in Maulana Zainulabedin Kazmi. Maulana and Sajidah now work and travel together as spiritual partners, husband and wife, and serve others for the Will of God. They have a family of four adult children, their spouses and ten grandchildren.
In each one of his events or lectures, Maulana Zainulabedin Kazmi, even while he is speaking, pours (transmits) the food of spirituality into the heart of each and every person who comes to sit before him with a quiet mind and an open heart. Each student is blessed depending upon his or her capacity to accept those transmissions from the bottom of their heart. People know in their hearts that Maulana speaks the Truth. For each person, Maulana unlocks more and more of the secrets of the transmissions into each person’s heart and life as they practice and follow more and more of his teachings, instructions and guidance.
The Secrets of True Spirituality have been locked away from western eyes and ears because of the barriers of language and because those who have translated in the past have been scholars and not Saints. Maulana grew up speaking Punjabi and Urdu and then English. We are very fortunate that he is bringing authentic teachings to us in the Western world in English with the heart, soul, interpretation and translation of a Saint. Having said that, Maulana does not speak from books. He speaks from deep wisdom and from inspiration through an unbroken 1500 year old lineage (chain) of Masters most of whom have left this world. When people come to Maulana many of them come with questions, but find by the end of his lecture that Maulana has answered all their questions , as if he knows the questions in their hearts.
Everyone is welcome to come and sit in the presence of Maulana. Maulana serves people of any race, religion, creed or ethnic background who want to breathe in the pure clean air from the Oceans of Spirituality. Perhaps some would like to dip their toes into the Ocean’s Beautiful and Precious Spiritual Waters. Perhaps others would like to dive into the Depths with Maulana as a True Teacher, True Guide, True Master - a True Saint – someone to watch over them and guide them.
